Kinsey's Bill

This is a big deal to me, so I wanted to pass it along and ask for your help and signature getting this bill passed!!!!!! A couple here in MS have a disabled child, and they (like many other parents) face astronomical financial responsibilities, as a result. Kids with various developmental disabilities see many specialists, participate in weekly (if not daily) therapy, require assistive devices or adaptive equipment. The child's medical bills create an enormous debt, but as parents, you do what you have to do for your child's well being.

This couple has proposed Kinsey's Bill. This bill, if passed, will create a tax break for parents of children, living in the home, with developmental disabilities, such as Cerebral Palsy, Down's Syndrome, Autism, etc.

I've pasted Rusty and Ashley Sumrall's info on the bill, as well as a direct link to go to the petition for this bill. Please sign this petition ...it would be a great blessing to a tremendous amount of families here in Mississippi, caring for their special children.

"Hi everyone! With the help of Senator Lee Yancey, we are introducing a bill for a small tax credit for Mississippi families with disabled kids during the upcoming legislative session. It is based on a bill that became law in Arkansas. We were inspired to do this through our many experiences with Kinsey (our 3 year old handicapped daughter). We are also encouraged by all of our many friends with special kids! PLEASE take a few seconds to read our petition and sign it. We will be presenting it to the MS Senate and hopefully the MS House of Representatives too! With your help, we can make this a law in our state. Let's show everyone how much Mississippi loves its special families! I would really appreciate it if you would pass this on to ALL of the Mississippians you know! THANKS!"
Blessings,
Rusty & Ashley Sumrall

Girl, I'll sign and have everyone I know do the same. I've "been there done that!" Bailey's LeBonheur bill (a month there, plus 4 therapists and three years of Hospice) was LARGE!

My heart goes out!

Love,
Amanda

THANKS everyone!

This touches our hearts so very much. When Kinsey was brought into our lives, we knew they would be changed forever. We had no idea what we would be in store for! Being an advocate for special needs kids was NOT on my agenda!!

You see, I am a doctor still in training (my plate is pretty darn full). But, when te LORD speaks, well you know...

So, we have senate bill 2125 (very official) which will start in the finance committee very soon. Just email your senator, list the bill number, and beg :-)

Simple, right? :)
Thanks again, everyone, and HUGE blessings for this new year!
